What to Expect
Location:
94-1549 Haehae St, Naalehu, Hawaii, 96772
Private studio. Appointment only. No walk-ins.
This is a private tattoo studio connected to, but separate from my home. The studio has its own entrance and private client bathroom.
Pricing:
I charge a flat rate per piece. No surprises, no hourly billing, and no wondering what the final cost will be.
The price I quote is the price you pay. I believe clients deserve to know the full cost upfront so they can plan accordingly. Your time, money, and trust are important to me.

Why Choose Eckland Tattoo?
My priorities are skill, efficiency, and thoughtful design. I have been tattooing for over a decade and spend hours every day refining my craft and developing new concepts. I use only the highest-quality equipment, needles, and inks because quality matters.
Client comfort is also important to me. My tattoo table is extra-large, extra wide and heavily padded. It supports up to 800 pounds. I want clients of all sizes to feel comfortable, welcome, and supported throughout their appointment.
I operate a private studio, which means my focus is entirely on you during your appointment. There are no walk-ins, unnecessary interruptions, or distractions. This dedicated environment allows me to give your tattoo the attention it deserves.
I take my work seriously and arrive prepared, focused, and ready to tattoo. I do not smoke, and I rarely take breaks unless a client requests one or we're working through a particularly long session. I do not drink or party and will always show up focused, well rested and prepared.
Just as important as the tattoo itself is the experience. If you would like to adjust the design, need to reposition for comfort, or want to take a break, simply let me know. This is your appointment, and my goal is to make it as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
When it comes to permanent artwork, you deserve quality, creativity, attention to detail, professionalism, and respect. That's exactly what I strive to provide for every client.
I am new to Hawaii, so my current Google listing has only a handful of reviews. However, my previous studio in Bixby, Oklahoma accumulated 468 five-star reviews. Every review I have is five-star only. That listing is still available if you would like to learn more about my reputation and client experience.

Deposit:
A $100 deposit is required to book your appointment.
The deposit is applied toward the cost of your tattoo. For example, if your tattoo costs $500, you will pay $400 at the end of the appointment.
For larger projects that require multiple appointments, only one $100 deposit is required.
For example, if your project requires four appointments at $800 each, you will pay the $100 deposit once when booking. You will then pay $800 at each of the first three appointments. At your fourth and final appointment, the deposit will be applied toward the balance, and you will pay $700.
In other words, I do not require a new deposit for every session of the same project.
Consultation:
Consultations are conducted through Instagram or email.
There are several reasons for this:
First, I am located in a remote area, and online consultations save everyone time and travel expenses.
Second, having our conversation, ideas, and reference photos in writing allows me to review everything carefully when it comes time to design your tattoo.
I have found that this process results in stronger designs because I can revisit our entire conversation, study the reference materials, and fully develop the concept before your appointment.
Snacks:
Keeping your blood sugar stable can help prevent lightheadedness during a tattoo session.
Complimentary water and candy will be available. You are welcome to bring additional snacks if you'd like.
Please avoid hot foods, as lingering odors can become distracting in a small studio environment. Quiet snacks are also appreciated, as excessive crinkling and crunching can be distracting while I work.
How to Prepare:
If the area being tattooed is particularly hairy, please trim it shorter with a beard trimmer beforehand. If you don't have a beard trimmer, don't go buy one, just skip that step. I will perform the final clean shave at your appointment to help avoid razor burn, which can make tattooing more difficult.
If the area is one you already shave regularly, such as your legs, feel free to follow your normal routine.
Please arrive well-hydrated, well-fed, and completely sober.
Wear clothing that provides easy access to the tattoo area. For example, if you're getting tattooed on your upper thigh, loose-fitting shorts that can easily roll up are ideal.
Please keep in mind that tattoo ink can stain clothing, so dress accordingly.
Arrival:
If you are bringing a guest, please arrive in a single vehicle, as parking space is limited.
Park in the driveway in the far right spot. Once you arrive, send me a message on Instagram to let me know you're here. If you do not have Instagram, you may text me. I will provide my phone number after your appointment has been booked.
Please remain in your vehicle until I come out to greet you and escort you to the studio entrance.
During Your Appointment:
You may bring one guest who is 16 years of age or older. Due to the size of the studio, I cannot accommodate more than one guest.
Children are not permitted in the studio for safety reasons.
During your appointment, we can watch television or listen to music. I typically choose something light and non-offensive, such as The Office, or play relaxed background music.
If there is a particular show or movie you'd like to watch, that's perfectly fine. I simply ask that it not contain excessively graphic sexual content.
You are also welcome to wear headphones and listen to your own music, podcasts, or entertainment.
If you or your guest plan to browse social media, I ask that headphones be used. Social media audio can be very distracting and takes away from the focus required to produce quality work.
Once you arrive, we will review the design together on my iPad. If you would like any changes made, I will gladly make them before we begin.
Once you approve the design, I will create a stencil and hold it against your body so we can evaluate the placement and size. If adjustments are needed, I will make them until we are both happy with the result.
After the stencil is applied, you'll have an opportunity to check the placement in a mirror and make sure everything looks exactly how you want it.
Only after receiving your final approval will I begin tattooing.
I generally work quickly and have a light touch.
Please do your best to remain still during the tattoo. Frequent movements such as foot tapping, leg bouncing, or repeatedly turning to look at the tattoo can affect the quality of the work.
Of course, you're welcome to check the progress periodically. I simply ask that you be mindful of movement so I can maintain clean lines and consistent results. Please be mindful of breathing down my neck or getting your face too close to mine while I’m working.
Aftercare:
Unscented liquid soap and Aquaphor ointment are all that is needed for basic aftercare.
Wash your tattoo gently twice per day, once in the morning and once at night.
When applying Aquaphor, use the absolute thinnest, thinnest, thinnest, layer possible. Applying too much can clog pores and cause small bumps to develop. It’s so important that I’ll say it again…thinnest.
Do these steps for the first week following your appointment.
After the first week you may switch to an unscented lotion and regular washing.
Avoid heavy workouts and excessive sweating for one week.
Avoid direct sunlight, swimming, hot tubs, baths, sand, and prolonged water exposure for at least three weeks. Normal showers are fine, but keep them reasonably short.
If your tattoo becomes sweaty, gently wash it and apply a very THIN layer of Aquaphor. Sweat contains salt, which can irritate the healing of the tattoo.
If you must be outdoors, keep the tattoo covered with loose, breathable cotton clothing.
You may choose to use Saniderm if you wish. It is available through Amazon and many pharmacies and drug stores. I specifically only recommend the Saniderm brand because its adhesive tends to be less irritating than many alternatives.
I do not apply Saniderm at appointments. The tattoo should be allowed to weep for approximately one day before application. Applying it too early can cause excess fluid buildup beneath the bandage.
If fluid does accumulate, you may carefully use a needle to create a small drainage hole near the edge rather than removing the entire bandage.
Payment Methods:
Cash, Venmo, Cash App, and Zelle are accepted.
Please note that I do not carry change for large bills.
PayPal is not accepted at appointments due to processing fees. If you choose to pay through PayPal, additional fees may apply.
